Responsibilities

  • Analyse new and emerging Customers requirements and provide a Safety and Avionic scoping together with a feasibility analysis for all the 7 main sub-systems teams
  • Co-ordinate a review of the provided requirements, either a Customer Statement of Requirements (SOR) or an EF System Requirements Document (SRD), to identify the initial Customer needs. The Customer requirements along with an assessment of the ConEmp scenarios are assessed to identify the ‘'Problem Space''. The output is captured in the Avionic System Scope and Feasibility Analysis Report (ASFAR)
  • Co-ordinate initial safety assessments of the design change, highlighting particular areas of concern, likely hazards, need for Weapon System Preliminary Hazard Analysis (WS PHA). The output is also captured in the ASFAR
  • Co-ordinate initial technical assessments of the Customer Business Cases (BC) to identify and document the overall scope, impact of the change(s) and potential solutions. The solutions will be analysed in order to define the single selected solution known as the ‘Avionic Design recommendation'. A final feasibility study is then performed on the Avionic Design recommendation

Your skills and experiences:

  • A degree in a STEM subject (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • It is critical that applicants have a strong Systems Engineering background through the whole system development lifecycle ideally from the Aerospace or Defence sectors
  • Strong proven experience in requirements capture and requirements management.
  • Understanding the relationships between engineering requirements and their impact on the platform and equipment is vital to effectively plan their implementation.
  • An excellent communicator at all levels, both written and verbal. The individual will build and sustain effective and lasting relationships with the Customer, Stakeholders and AJT teams
  • Proven ability to write formal project documentation

The Eurofighter Typhoon Avionics Joint team:

Eurofighter Typhoon Avionics Joint Team (AJT) is responsible for the overall system level functional Avionic design and partitioning across the 7 main sub-systems and 100+ “black boxes”. Also responsible for the overall avionics safety analysis, qualification and certification of the integrated system and delivery of product to customer(s).

The Front-End Team provides technical support to EF and collates customer requirements and system constraint providing a coherent Design Concept and an aligned view across the Avionic Design teams.
