Responsibilities

  • Attend all internal pre-construction investment steering groups and working group meetings, to assist internal stakeholders with all MEP matters in a clear, concise and jargon free manner.
  • Manage all construction technical matters and queries and as a junction between our MEP consultant engineers, framework contractors, and construction oversight partners.
  • Be familiar with the groups MEP & construction standards to aid the suppliers in ensuring these are met. Constantly monitor evolving trends and regulations change to ensure standards are current and submit all changes to the lead engineer.
  • Dealing with incident management within the groups key data centres and critical buildings. This shall include managing the escalation process to key stakeholders and contributing towards resolutions with the groups supply chain partners. These incidents are rare and may occur out-with normal working hours, therefore a willingness to support the group through these periods is required.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement with the Group's suppliers.
  • Chair meeting and liaise with stakeholders and key suppliers. I.e MEP consultant partners.
  • Attend alternating project construction meetings to support our framework contractors when required and in parallel with our MEP consultants.
  • Manage construction aspects to ensure the site environment, health & safety, wellbeing, quality, and commissioning of the project is reported in a timely manner.
  • Identify and mitigate embedded MEP services that impose a risk to project timeline and quality. The ability to identify trends, key issues or critical path risk is fundamental to the role.
  • Manage own resources and track progress for reporting to line manager/ lead engineer.

Contract

40 hours per week

Candidate requirements

  • Experience of working with common construction software preferred i.e AutoCAD, BIM, Document Management Portals
  • Experience and knowledge of sustainability pledges and the impact on the design and & implementation of M&E systems
  • This could include flexibility with regards to office attendance, location, and working pattern

  • Knowledge of building safety legislation, building standards, construction contracts and health and safety requirements essential

About this Opportunity

The Construction and Standards team are responsible for the design and construction of Group Property's estate. The team consists of construction specialists and provides assurance that the work undertaken to our estate is safe and effective. The team is also responsible for the delivery of a safe, resilient, and sustainable data centre infrastructure. This is essential for the continuity of the Group as a whole, with any disruptions having a direct impact to customers and colleagues.

The new candidate will be responsible for retaining and building relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and regularly reporting to the line manager on findings and any remedial plans required.

The candidate for this role needs to be based within commuting distance from the principal data centre locations in the East Midlands.

What you'll need

  • Significant Industry Experience (required).
  • Ideally located in the East Midlands area.
  • Relevant bachelor's degree in a property, engineering or construction related field. (required).
  • MEP related construction experience essential with a focus on project management.
  • Knowledge of building safety legislation, building standards, construction contracts and health and safety requirements essential.
  • Experience of working in diverse teams with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience of working with common construction software preferred i.e AutoCAD, BIM, Document Management Portals etc.
