Responsibilities

  • Working together with the business to provide trading automation and improvement of the existing Trading and Market Intelligence strategies for Dealer to dealer and Dealer to Client markets
  • Build React HTML5 based automated trading platform
  • Expand testing/backtesting capability to ensure lower defect rates and increase new strategy development productivity
  • Integration with existing Fixed Income electronic trading platform
  • Integrating with Quantitative Analytical tools
  • Expansion of trading to additional venues and desks where required
  • Conducting research – both in technology but also business process and strategy – to ensure knowledge of best practice needed to support delivery for business stakeholders
  • Successful candidates will be participating in a whole range of front to back architecture, design and development activities. It is vital that the candidate is able to challenge the status quo and help explore new avenues of efficiency
  • Helping develop the overall architecture of the System/Framework. Requirements gathering, design, development, unit testing, system testing, back-testing, implementation and (2nd line) support systems.
  • Primary development language is Java/Scala. A track record of agile delivery of Business requirements is a must
  • Must demonstrate full ownership of mission critical production systems.

40 hours per week

Candidate requirements

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Integration and messaging technologies
  • Knowledge of ION/Solace/RMDS middleware and related Java APIs is desirable
  • Being able to demonstrate ability to implement reusable and maintainable object oriented and (or alternatively functional programming) designs is essential
  • Being able to demonstrate ability to implement reusable and maintainable object oriented and
  • Demonstrable experience implementing global, distributed systems in a mission critical/trading environment is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of the e-trading workflow, fixed income is ideal but other asset classes are acceptable
  • Java/Scala server side development experience, the candidate must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of multi-threaded development
  • Front Office development team experience preferably from a Large Investment Bank or Hedge Fund, supporting global trading desk
  • Experience with designing and implementing high performance / low latency systems
  • Experience working on enterprise systems but also agile delivery of business driven requirements

Our Markets & Securities Services IT organisation are looking for an experienced Java engineer to join the Fixed Income Algo team and help deliver new pricing/hedging functionalities across multiple regions. This position reports into the Global Head of Fixed Income e-Trading Technology and requires the professional to have knowledge of e-trading workflows, enterprise systems and experience operating trading desks in large multi-site environments.

  • Front Office development team experience preferably from a Large Investment Bank or Hedge Fund, supporting global trading desk
  • Alternatively: Exceptional candidates from large in-house software or internet/gaming companies
  • A background of solid architectural work
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Integration and messaging technologies
  • Java/Scala server side development experience, the candidate must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of multi-threaded development.
  • Experience with designing and implementing high performance / low latency systems.
  • Being able to demonstrate ability to implement reusable and maintainable object oriented and (or alternatively functional programming) designs is essential
  • Demonstrable experience implementing global, distributed systems in a mission critical/trading environment is highly desirable
  • Experience with web-based (HTML5) front end technologies is desirable
  • Experience with BDD/TDD is desirable
  • Knowledge of ION/Solace/RMDS middleware and related Java APIs is desirable
  • Knowledge of the e-trading workflow, fixed income is ideal but other asset classes are acceptable
  • Operation of trading desks in a large, multi-site Investment Bank or Hedge Fund
  • Fixed Income in a high volume low latency environment
  • Experience working on enterprise systems but also agile delivery of business driven requirements
