Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage all aspects of the financial and contractual side of our projects
  • Work closely with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Negotiate contracts and work schedules with contractors and subcontractors
  • Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour, and time
  • Prepare and present detailed cost reports and cost plans
  • Prepare monthly valuations and final accounts

Contract

40 hours per week

Candidate requirements

  • Proficiency in relevant IT tools and software
  • Excellent cost control and financial management skills
  • Ability to analyse and interpret detailed and complex data
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in developing costs with clients

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the financial and contractual side of our projects.
  • Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour, and time.
  • Negotiate contracts and work schedules with contractors and subcontractors.
  • Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare monthly valuations and final accounts.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with JCT contracts.
  • Provide advice on contractual claims.
  • Work closely with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost reports and cost plans.
  • Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of JCT contracts.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in developing costs with clients.
  • Excellent cost control and financial management skills.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret detailed and complex data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant IT tools and software.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS) is desirable.
