Environmental Compliance Lead - Energy from Waste

£55,000 + car allowance + bonus + benefits

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Environmental Compliance Lead / Environmental Specialist to join a leading business in the EFW industry. Based from your nearest site you will be fully responsible In managing events that could cause Health, Safety and Environmental harm across multiple sites along the west of England.

As the Environmental Compliance Lead you will be responsible for:

Ensuring efficient management of the company’s environmental responsibilities in compliance with environmental permits and licences

Provide collaborative support and leadership in different aspects of HSE to sites in multiple area up and down the west of England.

Liaise with various governing bodies relating to the site environmental permit such as Environment Agency and Local Authorities

Ensuring site is fully prepared for all internal and external audits relating to ISO, environmental and compliance aspects.

Provide a high standard of environmental support to the business, working closely with the ERF EHS Managers and members of the Environment Team driving environmental performance improvement

Ensure that the business meets its environmental compliance and operational objectives

Building a positive safety and environmental compliance culture across the business

Other Duties As Required

To be considered for this role you should have:

A bachelor’s degree in health, Safety and Environmental or an equivalent qualification.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in effective environmental risk management and compliance, ideally in an EFW setting but will also consider other heavily regulated industrial settings e.g. water treatment, chemical production etc

Experience and an excellent understanding of ISO9001, 45001 and 50001

Full UK driver’s license.
