What we are looking for
If you’re passionate about balancing the books with precision and looking for a role where you can help achieve things such as implementing a new finance system, then this role is for you.
The perfect candidate is AAT qualified and looking for a place to put their expertise into practice! You will be striving to utilise your ledger skills (and Excel skills) while learning to build our weekly report, management accounts and how we support the wider business. The perfect candidate will be a great communicator to stakeholders at all levels and excited to continue their studies to become a Chartered accountant.

The role
We are looking for someone to join our team and took responsibilities after sales and purchase ledgers in Bacton Transport and support the other ledgers when required. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to learn our weekly and monthly reporting processes to deliver value to the wider business. We’re looking for someone to embed themselves and use their expertise to develop the way we work, helping to achieve our lofty ambitions.

Essential skills:
AAT qualified
Proficient in using accounting software, particularly Sage and similar tools, for efficient and accurate financial data management and accounting tasks
You will be intermediate skill level with Microsoft Excel with the passion to keep up to date with the latest developments.
The ability to analyse financial data and extract insights
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ensuring secure handling of all financial information in compliance with data protection regulations
Must share our values, as found on our website.
What your day might look like
Maintaining the sales ledger and ensuring that all invoices raised correctly
Working across the finance ledgers, the bank and payroll to support the wider finance team
Working on Sage and similar software for accounting tasks
Learning to build our financial reports and forecasts and in the future to collaborate closely with the operational teams
Accounts receivable (and credit control), following up on invoices raised and emailed to clients and following existing processes to get these paid
Ensuring confidentiality and secure handling of all financial information
Continue your own professional development and training sessions to inspire you to do the best work of your career.
