    Position Summary

    PMA is seeking a Cost Estimator to support our current aviation and rail infrastructure projects in the New York City area. In this role, you will develop order-of-magnitude estimates, detailed estimates, change order estimates, and what-if cost studies. You will maintain composite unit rates for overtime work, union labor, equipment operations, and material handling/deliveries on infrastructure construction projects in New York City. You will analyze vendor quotes, subcontractor proposals, and third-party estimates to provide clear comparative reports. You will negotiate estimates and summarize cost information for various project stakeholders.

    Position Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, and relevant professional certification required
    • 5 years of cost estimating experience in capital infrastructure construction required
    • Proficiency in estimating software, including MS Excel required
    • Master’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred
    • Experience on New York City metropolitan area capital infrastructure projects preferred
    • Working knowledge of scheduling, cost controls, risk analysis, or value engineering preferred


    Additional Requirements

    Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.

    Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.

    The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $140,000.

    A hired employee will be placed within this salary range based on a variety of legitimate business reasons, including but not limited to the individual’s scope of relevant experience and geographic location.
