Candidate requirements

  • Knowledge of the sportssector and/or groundscare industry would be an advantage although not essential

  • Practicaland thorough knowledgeand understanding of managing a membership scheme, with experience of leading a membership or loyalty scheme within a major institution
  • Extensive experience of using CRM / stakeholder management systems and interrogating data using the latest evaluation tools and reporting
  • Demonstrable experience of translating creative ideas into valued delivery
  • Knowledge and understanding of creating live events such as seminars, webinars, podcasts, and video content
  • Experience of delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns and the abilityto use digital marketing tools
  • Proven experience of financial and budget management

Our client a leading industry body, a not-for-profit membership organisation with over 3,000 members across England is currently seeking to appoint a Head of Membership managing a team of 3.


The Role


Membership strategy and offerings

Recruitment and retention of membership

Membership related systemsincluding CRM system,Learning platform and website

Membership customerservice delivery and customer relationship management

Membershipdata, reporting and insights

Products and Servicesincluding learning events and training courses

Membership related events


Person Specification


Knowledge of GDPR and other legislation concerning membership

Knowledge of the sportssector and/or groundscare industry would be an advantage although not essential

Degree or equivalent with evidence of ongoing CPD

Proven track record of successfully leading a membership scheme and function, both strategically and operationally and achieving sustainable growth of membership. Typically, this would be experience gained between 7-10 years, 3 of which would be operating at a senior level.

Evidence of effective leadership, management and motivation of staff, includinggoals setting, monitoring targets/outcomes and developing staff.

Previous experience workingwith professional membership organisations

Practicaland thorough knowledgeand understanding of managing a membership scheme, with experience of leading a membership or loyalty scheme within a major institution.

Proven track record of excellent customer service delivery and sustaining/developing businessservices

Demonstrable recordof adding valueto an organisation.

Demonstrable experience of translating creative ideas into valued delivery.

Proven experience of financial and budget management.

Experience of delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns and the abilityto use digital marketing tools.
