Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

We are the Supply Chain Platform Engineering team that powers the Cloud and Devices supply chains of Microsoft with opportunity to productize. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our organization who can handle complex evolving requirements and standards in the areas of Supply Chain Traceability, Risk and Compliance, Artificial Intelligence, Supplier/Partner integration to drive innovative architecture and design to enable automation of our processes and systems in a data driven manner, while continuously improving operational excellence (security, resiliency, scalability, efficiency). Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure by design and extensible Supply chain Traceability platform and related systems with focus on scalability, resiliency, quality and efficiency.
  • Actively work with stakeholders across architects, business, compliance, CELA, business, internal & external ecosystem for understanding requirements and turning them into solid architectural and design plans with implementation roadmap. Seeks and contributes to requirements/architecture/design/code reviews with other stakeholders. Influence and communicate long-term product vision, technical vision, roadmap for your area.
  • Self-driven for technical problem solving and working & contributing to industry standards. Investigate new technologies and industry best practices to drive innovation through prototypes and experimentation in a data driven, outcome-based approach
  • Drives and collabrates with others on delivery of high quality platform components with comprehensive unit and functional testing, peer code reviews as well drive end to end integration efforts between other dependent platforms and systems.
  • Have a customer first & live site mindset. Ensures effective engineering fundamentals. Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning within the team.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ year of Azure Service knowledge or equivalent (Microsoft Entra ID authentication, App Services, Functions, Message Eventing, App Services), Azure DevOps and Relational databases.
Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of software design and development experience with middle tier or backend services. Working experience with Representational State Transfer (REST), service-oriented architecture and cloud services experience Full stack development experience using .NET, Angular, similar technologies. Knowledge of working with SAP or integrating with SAP.
  • Industry or project experience with Supply Chain Traceability and Compliance systems, preferebaly in Hardware and high tech supply chains.
  • Ability to drive large, complex programs and solutions ability to communicate technical details clearly and participate in contributing to Industry standards. Self-motivated with a drive for reaching across teams and organizations to make progress collaboratively.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
