SF based boutique CPA firm specializing in High Net Worth clients, seeks a Tax Supervisor or heavy Tax Senior with High Net Worth experience. Clients' typically have many complex entities, up to 40. This is a remote role offering work life balance outside of busy season and excellent benefits as well as paid OT and bonuses.
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior is responsible for all aspects of the tax compliance and consulting processes.
This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Technical Expertise – The Senior is responsible for providing quality tax and accounting services to clients in compliance with tax regulations and GAAP. They must demonstrate solid judgment when interpreting data, actively work with staff to develop professional acumen and conduct research on technical issues. The Senior stays current on regulatory and industry changes affecting clients.
- Client Relations – The Senior is responsible for building positive relationships with clients and providing exceptional client service. They serve as the primary client contact on engagements and identify ways to provide additional and better service to clients.
- Engagement Management - The Senior works with managers, professional staff, and clients to complete engagements effectively. The Senior assists the manager in planning, budgeting, and organizing client engagements. They delegate appropriately; explain purpose and goal of each task to staff, and manage staff and client expectations.
- Staff\Professional Development – The Senior supervises, trains, and develops the firm’s professional staff under the guidance of Managers and assumes responsibility for professional self-development. They provide effective coaching and timely feedback to develop staff and determine personal career path at the firm.
Requirements:
Successful candidates for this position require at least two years of significant tax and accounting experience. Specific knowledge skills and abilities required include the following:
- Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal staff and clients.
- Tax\Accounting – Strong knowledge of tax regulations and GAAP.
- Technical – Proficiency in use of tax and accounting software including ProSystem fx Tax and Engagement, computer spreadsheet applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Education – Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance, and significant progress towards CPA license.
- Management Skills – Excellent time management and prioritization skills in managing multiple projects\staff within accepted budgets and on deadline
