Contract

Candidate requirements

  • Understanding of SSP structure and Fleet relationship
  • Experience with Ship Systems/Subsystems and interfaces of installed equipment
  • TRIDENT submarine experience is a plus
  • Experience in developing technical reports and status
  • Shipboard or shipyard work experience with demonstrated capability of operating independently with little oversight
  • Experience in measuring using a Spatial analyzer, analyzing Spatial Analyzer data and determining compliance within prescribed parameters and operational function

Job Description

BAE Systems is currently searching for a Mechanical Engineer or a high-level Technician to support integration testing of systems interfacing within a Strategic Weapon System and the associated subsystems and to verify measurement accuracies of installed equipment and structures. This person will perform duties on-site, in a shipyard and office environment, to support Columbia Class Test Engineering and the Shipyard Installation Test Program tasks at

Quonset Point, RI.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Minimum education and years of related/relevant experience required: High School diploma and at least six years of related/relevant work experience. Shipboard or shipyard work experience with demonstrated capability of operating independently with little oversight.

Additional skills/experience required:

  • Experience with shipboard or shipyard work with demonstrated capability of operating independently with little oversight to include the ability to climb ladders, move equipment about the entire ship ad sustain prolonged standing
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Experience with Ship Systems/Subsystems and interfaces of installed equipment. TRIDENT submarine experience is a plus
  • Experience in developing technical reports and status
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • High quality communication and presentation dexterity

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent studies
  • Experience in measuring using a Spatial analyzer, analyzing Spatial Analyzer data and determining compliance within prescribed parameters and operational function
  • Understanding of SSP structure and Fleet relationship
  • Familiarity with Naval drawings and SWS equipment technical drawings
  • Proficiency in MS Project

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $75570 - $128480

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
