Responsibilities

  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders
  • Intelligence & Security (I&S), based in McLean, Virginia, designs and delivers advanced defense, intelligence, and security solutions that support the important missions of our customers
  • Develop and implement program quality plans and procedures
  • Lead collaborator for the internal quality management system
  • Establish team direction and plans aligned with business strategic goals and quality objectives
  • Contribute to monthly reviews, phase reviews, quality management reviews, and reviews quality requirements, business requirements during proposals efforts
  • Offer guidance to ATC program and projects on quality initiatives
  • Investigate problems, recommend corrective actions, develop dispositions, and implement process optimization tools
  • Identify and implement improvements to the quality management system and processes
  • Aid in the development and reporting of the organization's quality objectives and performance to Director of Quality via the Quality Reporting Tool

40 hours per week

Job Description

Do you have a vision for quality management and process improvement that will lead to growth! BAE Systems is looking for a Quality Management Leader to shape initiatives supporting the Air Traffic Control Team (ATC) that lead to growth. This position will be a key partner with ATC Leadership, ATC Project Leads, ATC Team Members, C5ISR Business Analyst, and I&S Sector Quality Director. Be Trusted. Be Innovative. Be Bold. Join us.

As the ATC Quality Manager, your mission will include:

- Learning leader of a team of approximately 4 Engineering Technicians and 1 Quality Analyst

- Responsible for quality elevation for 5 ATC projects and processes that cover activities in San Diego, CA; Chesapeake VA; Lexington Park MD in addition to customer sites located on Patuxent River Naval Air Station, MD; and Webster Out Lying Field, MD

- Lead collaborator for the internal quality management system (QMS) and QMS audit processes for all of the ATC locations, including maintenance of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 certification

- Interface with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., ATC Leadership Team, ATC Team Members, customers, auditors, etc.,) to ensure requirements are met and corrective measure and responses are handled expeditiously

- Aid in the development and reporting of the organization's quality objectives and performance to Director of Quality via the Quality Reporting Tool

- Develop and implement program quality plans and procedures.

- Investigate problems, recommend corrective actions, develop dispositions, and implement process optimization tools

- Identify and implement improvements to the quality management system and processes

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Bachelor's Degree and at least 7 years of relevant work experience (May substitute equivalent and relevant experience, training and/or certifications for the degree. Relevant experience is job-related work that provides the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the role.)

Familiarity or direct experience with ISO 9001:2015

Understanding of and experience with quality processes used to produce both mechanical and electrical parts and assemblies

Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Office, Word, VISIO, Project, Access, SharePoint & Outlook

Commitment to acting with appropriate urgency to hold the ATC team accountable and ensuring robust Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) implementation to avoid future issues

Ability to influence, develop and implement change management strategies and to communicate and lead a quality culture that leads to growth

Ability to capture and communicate process improvement metrics that prove BAE Systems is the partner of choice

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Operational Department of Defense / Military experience

Experience working with Air Traffic Control Landing Systems, upgrades and integration

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $96470 - $164010

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
