  • Provide updates to estimated project schedules and participate in meetings to provide status of installation and testing to leadership team

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Program Lead Support to join our dynamic team of engineers, technologists, and military veterans. This position will be located in Wallops Island, VA working at the U.S. Navy's Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC). SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions: combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises. SCSC provides a high-fidelity representative combat system of every ship in the AEGIS and Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future.

The selected candidate is responsible for digital transformation through advanced implementation of computing infrastructure. Candidates will provide daily support to the program lead by planning, cabling, installation, testing, and delivery of cloud computing infrastructure and the latest in industry best practices. Provide updates to estimated project schedules and participate in meetings to provide status of installation and testing to leadership team. Drive process improvements that align with Surface Combat Systems Center's digital strategy.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Minimum education and years of relevant/related work experience required: Associate's degree in a relevant/related field or at least 2 years of relevant experience (equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree). Experience cabling, installing, testing, and delivering IT assets. Knowledge and experience in implementing defense industry cybersecurity practices.

Security clearance requirement: This position requires the successful candidate to be able to obtain a Secret level clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements. You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance. If selected candidate is not in possession of an active Secret clearance, then he/she will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until an interim Secret clearance is granted.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Security+ Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • LINUX basic course
  • Knowledge of databases to include JIRA, Power BI, Microsoft Suites, P6 Project Management etc.
  • Experience with Compliance Assessment, SWOT Analysis and Threat Modeling
  • Experience in Project Life Cycle Management phases and deliverables.
  • Agile Methodology Experience
  • Excellent communication skills; being able to present to leadership as well as to peers
  • Ability to translate complex ideas and express them in concise, simple to understand ways

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $56200 - $95500

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
