  • Budget planningWork closely with the Talent & Learning leadership team to co-ordinate the submission of annual budgets and forecasts. Create templates and guidelines to ensure timely and consistent submissions in line with strategy. Work with finance to influence the budget.
  • Spend tracking and reportingTrack spend against monthly budget forecast ensuring spend is accurately reported and aligned to the learning strategy and/or cost saving targets. Provide monthly financial analysis to the Talent & Learning Director and senior managers in the team.
  • Data management – Ensure consistent approach to project codes across Learning to enable effective and accurate financial reporting. Co-ordinate submissions for new project codes. Track and report cost against current headcount structure across the team. Identify gaps and work with HR Services to correct these.
  • Financial governanceCoordinate and lead on finance meetings with senior stakeholders. Identify challenges and risks to spend objectives and offer scalable solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Strategy supportSupport the evolution and iteration of the Talent & Learning Strategy in collaboration with the Head of Talent & Learning Operations and Talent & Learning Director, aligning to the HR strategy and the Global Learning Strategy.
  • Strategy deliveryWorking with the wider Talent & Learning team to ensure team alignment to the broader strategy.
  • Strategy benchmarkingManage and lead benchmarking activity to understand current market trends in the Talent & Learning space and use this to inform the learning strategy.
  • Problem solving and solutionsSupport with the resolution of function-wide issues which may affect the Talent & Learning team's ability to deliver against the Talent & Learning strategy e.g., budgets, reporting, systems, or communications.
  • Firmwide learning forumsFacilitate and create the agenda for the Talent & Learning governance meetings (e.g., Learning council). Stakeholders include Partners, Directors, and Senior Managers.
  • Talent & Learning forums – Support with coordinating the Talent & Learning team meetings such as Town Halls, Leadership meetings, All Hands.
  • Stakeholder reportingProvide regular and comprehensive updates to key stakeholders regarding the progress and outcomes of key Talent & Learning initiatives.
  • Talent & Learning strategic initiativesRecognise and flag risks or issues on project planning in a timely manner especially in line with budget plans.
  • Resource management – Be accountable for maintaining the SharePoint and Teams site and update central documents to ensure smooth running of the Talent & Learning function.

The Learning Business and Finance Manager is responsible for:

Reporting to the Head of Talent & Learning Operations and working closely with the Director of Talent & Learning, the Learning Business and Finance Manager role is wide-ranging, encompassing budget management and activity tracking as well as strategic input into continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration with CoE Leads across the Talent & Learning, HR and Finance functions is essential to ensure effective budget utilisation and best practice governance across the Talent & Learning function. This role requires exceptional stakeholder management skills, attention to detail, project management and communication skills, and the ability to analyse data and information to support the delivery of the learning strategy aligned with organisational objectives. The role also entails managing multiple stakeholders with confidence, gravitas and influence to gain their support and commitment for strategic initiatives and priorities, serving as the main point of contact for all firmwide Talent & Learning initiatives and their corresponding budgets.

Responsibilities:

Financial management
