  • We need someone who can conceptualise and understand the potential of Digital Assets, tokenization, API, and Distributed Ledger technologies to help LBG grow in this market.
  • Work with our Fintech, Innovation, and Proposition teams to craft the direction the Group should take, exploring and exploiting new technologies.
  • By guiding LBG in exploring options for its customers and clients to make payments, transact, and settle liabilities in the increasingly digital marketplaces of the future.

Candidate requirements

  • And any experience of these would be really useful
  • As would an appreciation of the technical landscape within the bank, the ability to support shaping solutions, and to articulate them to a wide range of audiences
  • As well as knowledge of the Payments domain, including the wider industry landscape, considering how the new Payments marketplace would integrate with existing Payment types and schemes
  • Track record of building a positive culture that attracts and retains talent, alongside evidence of encouraging capability growth, people development, and continuous improvement
  • Experience working within a change environment would be an advantage
  • Extensive experience in product development and delivery through large cross-functional teams, deploying strategic technology solutions, and engaging with global partners and suppliers
  • Experience collaborating with FinTechs and other technical organisations towards a common goal
  • Experience in developing strategies and implementing plans to achieve organisational goals in alignment with the overall strategy
  • Extensive knowledge of sophisticated banking products in the area of Trade Finance, Treasury, Settlements, and Financial Markets
  • The capability to impact various levels of the organization and externally, and effectively communicate choices and decisions to senior leaders
  • Technical/Engineering background and/or technical experience leading a team delivering brand new technologies

London: £121,023 - £142,380

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

Our mission in the Payments Services Platform (PSP) is to offer compliant and efficient payment capabilities for LBG. We drive innovation to ensure customers can move money confidently, quickly, and securely. PSP is a vital part of Group Payments, serving the entire LBG organisation as an enterprise function.

Join our journey to establish a centre of excellence for digital assets and currencies. We need a Lab PO to lead our new Digital Assets & Currencies (Paytech) Lab within PSP. The Lab PO will encourage their team to tackle business problems and deliver customer value by crafting innovative solutions. You'll work with the lead engineer to build and develop the team, encouraging a culture of innovation and experimentation.

What you'll need

  • Extensive experience in product development and delivery through large cross-functional teams, deploying strategic technology solutions, and engaging with global partners and suppliers.
  • Experience collaborating with FinTechs and other technical organisations towards a common goal.
  • The capability to impact various levels of the organization and externally, and effectively communicate choices and decisions to senior leaders. Ability to “sell” new insights and concepts to aid adoption internally across the Group, and externally across the Industry.
  • Track record of building a positive culture that attracts and retains talent, alongside evidence of encouraging capability growth, people development, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in developing strategies and implementing plans to achieve organisational goals in alignment with the overall strategy.
  • Extensive knowledge of sophisticated banking products in the area of Trade Finance, Treasury, Settlements, and Financial Markets. As well as knowledge of the Payments domain, including the wider industry landscape, considering how the new Payments marketplace would integrate with existing Payment types and schemes.
  • Technical/Engineering background and/or technical experience leading a team delivering brand new technologies.
  • We need someone who can conceptualise and understand the potential of Digital Assets, tokenization, API, and Distributed Ledger technologies to help LBG grow in this market.
