Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a
Senior Mechanical Engineer for the
Ocean Engineering Technology Support (OETS) program supporting the
Navy Division.
The
Senior Mechanical Engineer will be a key player in the Navy Division’s growth and execution strategy.
JOB DETAILS
LOCATION: Ventura, CA
JOB STATUS: Full Time provided that the Customer awards sufficient work to support full-time employment
TRAVEL: Up to 10%
Required Qualifications / Skills
- A minimum of a master’s degree in mechanical engineering
- A minimum of ten years’ practical experience in research, development, design and use of advanced mechanical equipment for use in the deep ocean, including pressure housings, cables, cable hardware, specialized ocean platforms and similar equipment, hydraulic systems, ballast controls, control systems, heat transfer/heat sinking, and corrosion control methods for ocean structures
- A minimum often years practical experience in the design of hydraulic system components, particularly pumps and motors, and to conduct hydraulic systems analysis using Dynamic Analysis and Design System (DADS) software or equivalent
- A minimum of four years’ experience in development of ocean platforms such as buoys, modified vessels, towed bodies, submersibles, remotely-operated vehicles and similar devices; and
- Professional Engineering registration. PE.
- Security Clearance: Must be a US Citizen. A Top Secret clearance based on an T5 investigation and deemed eligible for SCI access
Responsibilities
- The contractor shall conduct or participate in studies to evaluate the materials compatibility of handling system components and undersea systems to include existing fielded systems (forensics) and new designs.
- The contractor shall design, fabricate, test and deliver test hardware to allow comprehensive testing of helical anchors in the NAVFAC EXWC test trench.
SALARY RANGE: Estimated
$140,000 USD/anually depending on experience.
