    Job Description

    We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Manual Machinist Valve / Technician, to support the inside machine shop at our Jacksonville Florida shipyard location. This is a full-time position with occasional overtime as needed to better serve production demand. In this role, you will work in our shop with experienced inside machinists. Additionally, you may be required to go aboard customer vessels in support of other crafts. To perform your duties, you will need to operate basic manual machine shop equipment, as well as demonstrate strong math skills and must be capable and willing to work in a machining environment requiring the use of cutting fluids and oils. In this skilled trade, dependability and a strong work ethic is vital.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    Minimum 3 years' experience operating machine shop equipment such as lathes and milling machines as well as performing maintenance and repair on various types of valves such as gate and globe valves. Strong basic math skills and the ability to read, write clearly and understand clearly the English language.

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    • Dependability and strong work ethic
    • High School Diploma or GED and 2-5 years' experience operating manual machine shop equipment as well as industrial valve repair experience, or an equivalent number of years of education in valve repair and maintenance, including repairing various valve.
    • Experience with tools and machinery required to perform valve repair duties. Including but not limited to manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders and power saws.
    • Ability to clearly write and speak English in order to interpret documents such as safety and environmental rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals or instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
    • Ability to use, read and understand precision measuring tools and gauges
    • Mechanical aptitude including use of basic hand tools
    • Ability to climb stairs and lift tools and materials to a job location
    • Poses and willing to use personal machinist and mechanical tools

    Pay Information

    Full-Time Salary Range: $44720 - $74360

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
