Responsibilities

  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done
  • To solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy
  • Adherence to the Risk policy, standards and frameworks, and maintaining a robust control environment
  • Development of strategic direction for risk, including the implementation of up-to-date methodologies and processes

Contract

40 hours per week

Candidate requirements

  • To be successful in this role you should have experience with
  • Data analytics - SAS, SQL experience
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal, in order to articulate issues and recommendations to a varied stakeholder audience
  • Analytical or numerate proficiency with experience in previous analytical roles or with a numerate/ analytical qualification

Join us as a Fraud Strategy Manager at Barclays, where you will be responsible for setting the fraud strategy for our cards products on the Next Generation Consumer Banking platform. You will manage multiple priorities working with business and tech teams to submit fraud requirements, analyse fraud data to support business case creation and influence senior stakeholders to sponsor your requirements. Your goal is to help the business deliver new products and platform enhancements safely to protect our customers and the business from fraudsters.

To be successful in this role you should have experience with:

  • Analytical or numerate proficiency with experience in previous analytical roles or with a numerate/ analytical qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal, in order to articulate issues and recommendations to a varied stakeholder audience.
  • Project management experience
  • Data analytics - SAS, SQL experience

Purpose of the role

To support the Risk Function in delivering it's objective of safeguarding the bank's financial and operational stability by proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across various business units and activities.

Accountabilities

  • Development of strategic direction for risk, including the implementation of up-to-date methodologies and processes.
  • Management of the risk department, including oversight of risk colleagues and their performance, implementation of risk priorities and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Relationship management of risk stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third-party services.
  • Adherence to the Risk policy, standards and frameworks, and maintaining a robust control environment.

Assistant Vice President Expectations

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
