Are you a seasoned Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional with a passion for creating a safer workplace? Look no further! We’re seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join our dynamic team at LANXESS in our Kalama, WA facility.


About Us: At Kalama, WA site, we’re committed to excellence in environmental stewardship, safety, and security. Our specialty chemical manufacturing facility operates complex processes, including continuous and batch operations, hazardous waste burning boilers, and a wastewater treatment plant. We are committed to ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA PSM, RCRA, Title V, and ISO 14001.


Role Overview: As our HSE Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of our employees and the environment. You’ll collaborate with the Site Leadership Team to champion a safety-first culture, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement. Your expertise will be critical in maintaining compliance with complex permitting requirements across Environmental (Air, Waste, Water), Occupational Health and Safety, Process Safety, and Security functions.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership: Lead a team of skilled HSE professionals, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to company standards, local, state, and federal regulations.

Risk Management: Analyze data, draw conclusions, and make informed decisions to mitigate risks.

Supervision: Directly supervise employees, contractors, consultants, and design firms.

Technical Skills: Utilize your OSHA PSM plant experience and working knowledge of ISO 14001.

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across organizational levels.

Time Management: Self-reliant with excellent prioritization skills.

Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an HSE professional is essential.
  • Engineering degree or technical background preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively from the shop floor to the executive level.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a commitment to integrity.


Compensation: We offer competitive compensation packages, inclusive of a global bonus program and an individual performance bonus program. The minimum pay for this position is $125,000. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including candidate qualifications, geographic location, etc.
