Responsibilities

  • Provide contract negotiation and administration on a variety of programs encompassing all phases of the contract life cycle (pre-proposal through contract close out).
  • Collaborate with other employees in the department, cross-functionally and with program personnel, and for establishing effective relationships with key customers.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

Candidate requirements

  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience
  • May substitute for two years of experience
  • Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education
  • Experience in developing and implementing negotiation strategies
  • Ability to work a variety of complex issues at one time
  • Government and Commercial (domestic and international desirable) contracts experience
  • Ability to be a leader with excellent conflict resolution skills in a changing environment
  • Solid working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations
  • Experience with DOD and major Aerospace primes preferred

As a contract specialist in the National Space contracts department, reporting to a Business Unit Manager, you will assume a hands-on Contract Specialist role as an individual contributor.

The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.

What You'll Do:

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • BS/BA in a related field plus 8 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Government and Commercial (domestic and international desirable) contracts experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), with a particular emphasis on intellectual property, government property, formation of proposals, and negotiations.
  • Solid communications skills, computer fluency, agile and effective negotiation skills with clear oral and written explanations.
  • Ability to work a variety of complex issues at one time.
  • Experience in developing and implementing negotiation strategies.
  • Ability to be a leader with excellent conflict resolution skills in a changing environment.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Business related Master's Degree preferred.
  • CPCM certification preferred.
  • Experience with DOD and major Aerospace primes preferred.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance preferred.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $113080.000 - $192280.000

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
