Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Make decisions using sound judgement while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
  • Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents- Microsoft Office
  • Also may prepare complex requests for proposals
  • Develops negotiation strategy and leads negotiation team on complex contractual issues
  • Works with Contracts Manager to develop negotiation strategy and participates on negotiation team on contractual actions
  • Provides contractual guidance to business team members for appropriate Statement of Work
  • Analyzes new law, regulation and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives
  • Assists in identification, development and implementation of new contract policy and processes
  • Functions as domain expert on selected areas and issues

  • Provides authoritative guidance to internal business teams on corporate goals and objectives relating to contract activity

As a Principal Contract Administrator, you will:

  • Review complex solicitations and prepares specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals, bids, and contract modifications. Also may prepare complex requests for proposals.
  • Analyze significant, and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and business unit procedure.
  • Provides contractual guidance to business team members for appropriate Statement of Work.
  • Manages contract change control process.
  • Works with Contracts Manager to develop negotiation strategy and participates on negotiation team on contractual actions.
  • Develops negotiation strategy and leads negotiation team on complex contractual issues.
  • Analyzes new law, regulation and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives.
  • Functions as domain expert on selected areas and issues.
  • Provides authoritative guidance to internal business teams on corporate goals and objectives relating to contract activity.
  • Focal point for all communication with law, finance and business team disciplines for resolution of contract issues and disputes.
  • Assists in identification, development and implementation of new contract policy and processes.
  • Have a general understanding of the business case and an appreciation of financial/analytical issues and profit and loss implications.
  • May mentor and train less experienced professionals.
  • May participate in development of less complex business alliances and partnering agreements.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant Contract Management experience or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of DoD contracting
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers.
  • Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents- Microsoft Office
  • Make decisions using sound judgement while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Develop/demonstrate research and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Excellent organizational and follow through skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Cost Type / Cost-Plus Contract experience.
  • Firm Fixed Price Contract experience.
  • Prime Contract experience.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• 7 or more years of related experience

• CFCM or CPCM certification from NCMA.

• JD/MBA degree.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $96470 - $164010

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
