Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data integration solutions using Cognos and ETL tools
  • Provide training and support to junior team members
  • Create and manage Cognos reports, including data extraction, transformation, and loading
  • Design, develop, and implement complex Cognos reports, dashboards, and data visualizations
  • Communicate technical solutions and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, data analysts, and IT professionals
  • Develop and maintain ETL workflows, including data extraction, transformation, and loading
  • Develop and maintain data mappings, data transformations, and data quality rules

Contract

Job Description

Senior Cognos Developer with ETL Development Background - fully remote

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cognos Developer with a strong background in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, developing, and implementing complex business intelligence solutions using Cognos and ETL tools. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Cognos Development

  • Design, develop, and implement complex Cognos reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
  • Develop and maintain Cognos Framework Manager models, including data sources, data sets, and calculations.
  • Create and manage Cognos reports, including data extraction, transformation, and loading.

ETL Development

  • Design, develop, and implement ETL processes using tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, IBM DataStage, or similar.
  • Develop and maintain ETL workflows, including data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ETL-related issues

Data Integration

  • Design and implement data integration solutions using Cognos and ETL tools.
  • Develop and maintain data mappings, data transformations, and data quality rules.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, data analysts, and IT professionals.
  • Communicate technical solutions and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide training and support to junior team members

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Minimum 5 years of experience in Cognos development and ETL development

  • Proficiency in Cognos 11.x, Cognos Analytics, or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, IBM DataStage, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or similar
  • Experience with scripting languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, or similar
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Cognos certification (e.g., Cognos Certified Developer) or similar business intelligence certification

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $103590 - $176130

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
