Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the product meets the highest standards of quality, security and reliability. Implement robust testing and processes to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Product Roadmap Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive product roadmap for the product, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the Scientific Data Capture group. Prioritize features and improvements based on user feedback, market trends, and business value.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Engage with lab scientists and other key stakeholders to gather insights and requirements, ensuring the product meets their needs. Foster collaborative relationships across cross-functional teams, including R&D, Tech, Quality, and external partners, to drive seamless product development and implementation.
  • Data FAIRness: Improve the FAIRness (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) of scientific data captured through the product.
  • User Experience Optimization: Focus on creating an intuitive and user-friendly interface that simplifies data capture for lab scientists. Conduct user testing and incorporate feedback to continually refine and enhance the user experience.
  • Leadership and Project Management: Lead the product development lifecycle from ideation through to delivery and ongoing support, ensuring timely and within-budget execution. Manage project resources, including internal teams and external vendors, to achieve milestones and objectives.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends for the product. Identify and implement opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement within the product and associated processes.
  • Communication and Reporting: Provide regular updates to leaders and stakeholders on product progress, performance metrics, and future plans.
  • Adoption Strategy & Change Management: Act as a change agent, supporting both product team and scientists in adopting agile approaches to solution development.

Contract

40 hours per week

Candidate requirements

  • Experience in product or project management, with a focus on user experience and data management
  • Knowledge of Scientific R&D operating models and processes and/or scientific data capture systems
  • Aptitude for problem-solving through logical thought processes & strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Conduct user testing and incorporate feedback to continually refine and enhance the user experience
  • Knowledge of FAIR data principles and regulations governing scientific data
  • Your ability to adapt communication styles to suit different stakeholders will be essential for success
  • Experience in managing virtual teams where members are in multiple countries and time zones
  • Experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably within the R&D domain
  • Understanding of Agile project management tools and methodologies

As the key Tech partner, R&D Digital & Tech supports our R&D ambition by supercharging our scientists with data. The Quality Engineering and Labs (QEL) function is pivotal in this mission, managing around 500 systems that support the end-to-end R&D process and all the systems that sit within the Laboratories. The Scientific Data Capture team, within QEL, is focused on delivering solutions which support the Lab Scientist Experience when recording experimental data, managing the complex and diverse metadata which enables scientists to meet regulatory requirements for data capture and facilitating automated consumption of data to drive medicine development.

As the Product Owner, Experiment Global Inventory Identification Management, you will work closely with Product Owners and Product Directors to develop and implement a roadmap that enhances user experience and aligns with strategic priorities, taking ownership and responsibility for a product or a product family. Collaboration is key, as you will partner with R&D scientists and leaders to prioritize initiatives and develop actionable plans within your product domain. Your ability to adapt communication styles to suit different stakeholders will be essential for success. As part of the Tech team, you will need to be technically proficient and enthusiastic about exploring new technologies and platforms.   • Understanding of Agile project management tools and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
