Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of GSK's oncology disease areas, products, customer segments, strategies/tactics, and competitive environment.
  • Synthesize findings from various sources and proactively connect quantitative and qualitative findings into actionable customer insights.
  • Lead primary market research design and execution to answer key medical insights questions within priority oncology disease areas.
  • Champion insight approaches and analytic methods, influencing decision-making through leadership.
  • Lead cross-functional US medical insights reviews meetings and collaborate with Global Medical to share key US findings at appropriate internal forums.
  • Build trust and partnerships within Oncology Medical Affairs and across the Medical Analytics team.
  • Liaise with the Medical Analytics Centers of Excellence (COEs) to share knowledge and implement new insight & analytics tools and capabilities within oncology.
  • Stay informed on best practices and methods to drive best-in-class insight discovery.

Contract

40 hours per week

Candidate requirements

  • Experience generating actionable insights and an understanding of relevant analytical concepts and frameworks
  • Liaise with the Medical Analytics Centers of Excellence (COEs) to share knowledge and implement new insight & analytics tools and capabilities within oncology
  • Ability to interpret stakeholder needs and prioritize work with stakeholders to ensure focus on the most meaningful, impactful work
  • Ability to maintain focus and flexibility through change and inspire agility/flexibility amongst team, comfort with ambiguity
  • Develop a deep understanding of GSK's oncology disease areas, products, customer segments, strategies/tactics, and competitive environment

Medical insights are a key enabler to help us deeply understand the needs and motivations of stakeholders within the healthcare ecosystem.

As Manager of Medical Insights (Oncology), you will join an industry-leading US medical analytics team and become a trusted partner to oncology Medical Affairs leadership. In this role, you will synthesize complex datasets into key insights and communicate those insights to cross-functional medical affairs stakeholders. These US customer insights are critical in enabling more effective data-driven decision-making within US oncology medical affairs. This role provides the opportunity to work across GSK's oncology portfolio and reports directly to the Director of Medical Insights (Oncology).

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • 5+ years' experience (including 3+ years in healthcare) in applying analytics and insights for business decisions (market research, analytics, forecasting, etc.) OR 3+ years with an advanced degree (including 2 years in healthcare)
  • BA/BS in applied quantitative sciences discipline (Business, Life Sciences, Applied Science, Analytics, Market Research, Healthcare Consulting)
  • Experience generating actionable insights and an understanding of relevant analytical concepts and frameworks .
  • Ability to understand and synthesize findings across multiple types of qualitative and quantitative datasets

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • MBA, MS, or MA in applied quantitative sciences discipline.
  • Experience in Pharmaceuticals/Medical Field preferred; MD, PharmD, or PhD within scientific disciplines.
  • Curiosity and the ability to “peel back the layers of the onion”
  • Prior Oncology Experience.
  • Strong business acumen; able to learn new concepts or new parts of the business quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication/ presentation skills - strong story telling skills with and without the development of clear, communication materials.
  • Ability to maintain focus and flexibility through change and inspire agility/flexibility amongst team, comfort with ambiguity.
  • Ability to interpret stakeholder needs and prioritize work with stakeholders to ensure focus on the most meaningful, impactful work.
  • Ownership and accountability with delivery and follow through with commitments – holds self and others accountable.
  • Proficiency in matrix management and influence effectiveness; Proven ability to work effectively and build relationships across teams.
