Job description
HSBC Equipment Finance (HEF) is one of the UK's leading asset finance businesses providing structured lending to UK relationships and potential switcher targets, across all CMB segments, to support the funding of their capital expenditure (such as heavy commercial vehicles, trailers, coaches, construction plant and machinery amongst others) and/or the refinancing of existing assets.
We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic individual to join this team in the role of Business Manager.
The role holder will participate in business activities, supporting the business providing day to day and strategic management support to the wider HEF business in the UK. The role holder is responsible for supporting and delivering key business objectives.
In this role you will:
• Assisting with the execution of business initiatives and activities in support of business area aims.
• Driving the design and development of customer and people initiatives, sharing best practice across the HEF Business.
• Driving collaboration with stakeholders across UK Bank, to identify and deliver key initiatives for transformation and simplification.
• Investigating and seeking remedies for discrete issues which may be adversely affecting business unit performance.
• Delivery of technological change
• Extensive stakeholder management both internally and externally to support design and development of initiatives to drive our growth agenda.
• Proactively seek and implement streamlining initiatives across the wider HEF Business
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• A good knowledge of the Asset Finance industry, evidencing a particularly strong understanding of the products and services provided would be beneficial but not essential.
• Thorough understanding of Bank and Departmental procedures, functions and activities.
• Ability to use the relevant Microsoft and other software packages to a high degree of proficiency.
• Project Management experience is essential.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, with limited day to day supervision and evidence strong levels of resilience.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to communicate across different management levels, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to a wide and varied audience.
• Collaborative approach with both team and Business colleagues, stakeholders and other business segments.
• A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better, with a ‘can do' proactive approach, with an understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change.
• Influencing skills and ability to build positive working relationships, enabling productive dialogue with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders.
The role has a hybrid working arrangement, allowing for a mix of home based and office-based working at HSBC offices in Birmingham.
