Responsibilities

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
  • On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
  • on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
  • Facilitate operational strategic planning efforts to identify purpose and long-term goals.
  • Collect and evaluate project scope and requirements.
  • Manage capital equipment efforts from trade studies to equipment selection through implementation, and support commissioning of new equipment.
  • Support the development of a strategic roadmap for future operations growth.
  • Improve forecast database management and analyze the outputs to quantify business demands.
  • Perform factory and individual value stream analysis using simulation software.
  • Develop and deliver effective presentations to executive staff and project stakeholders.
  • Lead small teams through projects.

Contract

24 hours per week

Candidate requirements

  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience
  • May substitute for two years of experience
  • Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education
  • BS degree or higher in a related technical field is required
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment to achieve solutions that are best for the company
  • Background in electronics, software, machining, or similar work environments preferred
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as a team player
  • Basic understanding of financial analysis concepts and methods
  • Experience in facility expansion planning and design using the traditional Industrial Engineering tool set (block diagrams, material flow analysis, capacity planning, material handling systems, .) is desired
  • Experience in facility expansion planning and design using the traditional Industrial Engineering tool set
  • Low volume / high mix manufacturing experience is desired
  • Ability to work and manage to strict schedules
  • Experience with manufacturing modeling software or queueing theory preferred
  • Familiarity with and ability to teach the Lean Manufacturing tool set
  • Experience relocating or moving manufacturing equipment

The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.

What You'll Do:

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
  • May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
  • May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • BS degree or higher in a related technical field is required.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Experience relocating or moving manufacturing equipment.
  • Able to use software systems: AutoCAD, MS Suite, MS Project and MS Visio.
  • Familiarity with and ability to teach the Lean Manufacturing tool set (6S, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, single piece flow).
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as a team player.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work and manage to strict schedules.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment to achieve solutions that are best for the company.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Low volume / high mix manufacturing experience is desired.
  • Experience in facility expansion planning and design using the traditional Industrial Engineering tool set (block diagrams, material flow analysis, capacity planning, material handling systems, etc.) is desired.
  • Basic understanding of financial analysis concepts and methods. Lean accounting knowledge desired.
  • Direct experience with Lean Manufacturing, which includes both the business philosophy aspect as well as the "tool set" is preferred.
  • Background in electronics, software, machining, or similar work environments preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing modeling software or queueing theory preferred.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $61820.000 - $105050.000

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
