Responsibilities

  • You'll offer a warm and friendly welcome to all visitors, actively engaging with them to enhance their appreciation and understanding of the Royal Collection and the historic Palaces.
  • Drawing on your knowledge of the Royal Collection, the Palaces, and the local area, you'll share fascinating insights, adapting your delivery to suit each visitor's interests.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of both the visitors and the exhibits will be a key part of your role, alongside maintaining the high standards of presentation throughout the Palace and galleries.
  • You'll assist with the daily preparation of visitor routes, ensuring all areas are immaculate, and report any maintenance or cleaning issues to ensure they are swiftly resolved.
  • Supporting special events, press visits, and receptions, you'll help with hospitality and ensure smooth operations for a wide range of activities.
  • You'll also be familiar with security, emergency, and evacuation procedures, ensuring the safety of all visitors, while maintaining the highest standards of visitor care.
  • We are seeking applications from candidates who are available to work full time hours, there may be opportunities to work part time but this will be discussed during the interview process. Although the role is being offered on a fixed term basis there may be the opportunity to be offered a permanent position at the end of the contract.

  • You will be able to work effectively when things get busy and remain calm under pressure
  • Clear and confident communication is essential, as you'll be engaging with a wide range of people and sharing your knowledge about the Palaces and the Royal Collection
  • It's creating a memorable experience for visitors in a historic setting
  • Experience working in a gallery, museum, or heritage attraction would be ideal, as would any front-line customer service experience
  • You'll have a genuine passion for delivering excellent visitor care, with a warm and approachable manner that puts visitors at ease

As part of our dedicated team, you'll play a key role in managing public access to the Palace and The King's Gallery, ensuring that every visitor has an unforgettable experience. You'll be the face of the Royal Collection Trust, engaging with visitors, sharing your knowledge of the Royal Collection and the Palaces, and ensuring that each visit is both enjoyable and informative.
