Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day input of appropriate information into RCM tools and business processes
  • Undertake administrative functions to maintain appropriate RCM records within the Support Engineering department and facilitate RCM activities
  • Participate in RCM studies and populate the WinUMMS toolkit in accordance with DEFSTAN 00-045 and BR1313A methodology
  • Work with the Support and Product Engineering Managers as appropriate to support the effective delivery of RCM as part of the support solution to the Customer
  • Attend maintenance-related meetings with internal and external organisations, sourcing relevant information to inform the analysis and liaising with Industry partners to gain understanding of the requirements and operating conditions to drive an effective maintenance solution that will be agreed with the MOD
  • Utilise best practice, professional engineering judgement and initiative to undertake tasks in support of the production of RCM deliverables

40 hours per week

Salary: £35,000+ dependent on experience

What you'll be doing:

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Understanding of how components breakdown/wear and can become unserviceable
  • Experience working in a maintenance environment & have the knowledge of how maintenance is planned and undertaken
  • Comfortable with the use of all Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc…)

Desirable:

  • Awareness of the principles of Availability, Reliability & Maintainability (AR&M)
  • Engineering background or HNC/BEng in engineering subject
  • Understand the need, and have awareness of Product Safety and SHE

The Support Engineering (RCM) team:

The Support Engineering organisation is central to ensuring a safe, defensible, and justifiable maintenance solution is available for all equipment installed on submarines in build, including the Astute Class, the Dreadnought Class, and the Astute Class replacement. This often extends to conducting work for the operational platforms of the Astute and Vanguard Classes.
