Responsibilities

  • Ensure production schedules are met in accordance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Develop new and redline existing Interlock Narratives
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for equipment and operational issues
  • Develop new and redline existing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
  • Develop and implement quality, safety, and process improvements in accordance with management of change requirements
  • Facilitate and/or support improvement projects, maintenance efforts, and aid in process troubleshooting
  • Lead/Support Process Hazard Analysis for new and existing processes
  • Develop new and update operating procedures and assist with training efforts

Contract

40 hours per week

Job Description

BAE Systems, one of the world's largest defense contractors and a Fortune 500 Company, is hiring a Process Improvement / Chemical Engineer to help us produce energetic materials for our government and commercial customers. An ideal candidate will have or be nearing a degree in chemical engineering and an interest in process controls and hands-on engineering problem solving. We will consider a rising graduate in the search.

  • Provide process engineering support to the Explosives Manufacturing Division
  • Develop new and redline existing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
  • Develop new and redline existing Interlock Narratives
  • Ensure production schedules are met in accordance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Facilitate and/or support improvement projects, maintenance efforts, and aid in process troubleshooting
  • Provide on call Technical support
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for equipment and operational issues
  • Develop new and update operating procedures and assist with training efforts
  • Ability to multitask and communicate with support organizations
  • Interact with Customers and Suppliers
  • Lead/Support Process Hazard Analysis for new and existing processes
  • Develop and implement quality, safety, and process improvements in accordance with management of change requirements

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 3 or More Years of Chemical Engineering Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Controls, or Similar Discipline
  • Must be 21 years of age

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Previous experience in a chemicals manufacturing facility
  • Experience in Process Hazard Analysis
  • Experience with Distillation/Evaporation/Recrystallization/Reactor Process Equipment
  • Experience Troubleshooting Process Issues
  • Experience in Management of Change and Continuous Improvement

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $75510 - $128340

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
