Job Title: Apprentice and Skills Development Coach-Mechanical Fitter

Location: Barrow-In-Furness. On-Site – Please note this is a (Non-Workshop) role. You will be assessing competence of apprentices, office based.

Salary: £41,997 – £44,796 depending on experience and skills

What you'll be doing:

• Deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment practices that engage and inspire learners to fulfil their individual potential and develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to successfully progress within the business
• Take professional pride in their role and embrace continuous professional development opportunities in support of delivering innovative and impactful teaching, learning and assessment
• Assess and monitor learner progress & performance in line with standards and legislative requirements to ensure occupational competence
• Coach employees and learners to reach their full potential by providing key support, mentoring, challenge, and motivation throughout all aspects of their learning journey
• Develop learners that are innovative thinkers and creative problem solvers, through designing and delivering learning content as part of a blended learning pedagogy focused on delivering vocational excellence

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

• Effective coaching and mentoring skills
• Proven and effective people skills specifically when dealing with welfare, support, and safeguarding issues
• Mechanical Fitter qualified

Desirable:

• A1/Assessor qualification
• Submarines experience
• Good IT Skills

The Early Careers team:

You will join a dynamic team of professionals, assessing a number of apprentices through their programme and supporting a range of early careers activities, including interviewing, inductions, career events etc. This is a good opportunity to work with the next generation of Mechanical Fitters, having a direct influence and shaping their careers.
