Responsibilities

  • Assist the sectors in preparation and submittal of licenses and agreements to the USG;
  • Act as the liaison between BAE Systems and the USG reviewers and regulatory personnel to resolve licensing issues;
  • Provide regulatory guidance to BAE Systems personnel and conduct pre-briefings to USG, as necessary;
  • Under direction from leadership, provides strategy, planning and execution plans for export/import;
  • Assist in approving foreign travel and foreign visitors;
  • Assists in preparation and delivery of licensing and compliance training;
  • Participates in drafting updated to Inc. level manuals, guidelines and instructions;
  • Provide oversight for IT related tools (DECCS, OneSpace, SNAP-R);
  • Mentor junior team members, as needed.

Contract

40 hours per week

Come and join the BAE Systems Inc., Headquarters export function as a Manager for International Trade Licensing! The BAE Systems Inc. International Trade Licensing team is part of the Headquarters legal function. We are a small dynamic team of subject matter experts who assist the businesses with managing their licenses and other export and import authorizations. This is a collegial and diverse team that collaborates closely with multiple other functions, including the international trade compliance audit team, the anticorruption team, business development, and government relations. It is an excellent opportunity to gain experience across the BAE Systems Inc. businesses, and to work with a wide variety of business areas. The position also provides significant potential for growth either in the headquarters function, or in the broader business level export teams.

While we would be delighted to have you join us in our Falls Church office, we have many members of the broader team who engage in part-time and full-time remote work, and the team has become adept at managing remote relationships.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years experience;
  • Experience with OCR's EASE global trade management software (EMS);
  • Strong existing experience and knowledge of export controls;
  • Must have strong knowledge of the current Department of State International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Department of Commerce Export Administration Regulations (EAR);
  • Must be detail oriented, have good writing skills and have good organization/communication skills;
  • Ability to manage projects independently;
  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active secret security clearance would be a plus.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $116419 - $197912

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
