Responsibilities

  • Build and manage the HSBC GCP foundation platform to enable application deployments
  • Engineer solutions on GCP foundation platform using Infrastructure As Code methods (e.g. Terraform)
  • Integrate, configure, deploy and manage centrally provided common cloud services (e.g. IAM, networking, logging, Operating systems, Containers.)
  • Ensure compliancy with Operational risk standards (E.g. Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency)
  • On a rotational on call basis provide out of business hours support as part of our 24 x 7 coverage
  • Make sure there is compliance with centrally defined Security
  • Update support and operational documentation as required
  • Make certain there is good change management practice is implemented as specified by central standards.

Contract

Candidate requirements

  • A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U
  • Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD and available tools
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Application teams, cross functional IT and global/local IT teams
  • Experience configuring SDN within a CSP
  • Make certain there is good change management practice is implemented as specified by central standards
  • Expert understanding of DevOps principles and Infrastructure as a Code concepts and techniques
  • Experience of building a range of Services in a Cloud Service provider

Our GCP Cloud DevOps Engineer will work within an agile team of Engineers and Operations personnel building highly resilient, scalable and performant GCP infrastructure in an automated and efficient manner. In this role you will work alongside the Application DevOps teams and cross-functional IT teams. You will be required to use your initiative to innovate to achieve maximum performance and be prepared to investigate and use new products/services offered by GCP

As our GCP Cloud DevOps Engineer you will:

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $100,400 and $150,600.

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Experience of building a range of Services in a Cloud Service provider (ideally GCP)
  • Expert understanding of DevOps principles and Infrastructure as a Code concepts and techniques
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD and available tools
  • Experience configuring SDN within a CSP (VPC's, XPN etc.)
  • Security and Compliance, e.g. IAM (ADFS, OAuth) and cloud compliance/auditing/monitoring tools
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Application teams, cross functional IT and global/local IT teams
  • Excellent skills in at least one of following: Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Go, Groovy, Scala
  • A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change. Including excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
