  • The Data Operations Investigator is responsible for working with partners across R&D (including R&D Tech, Research Technologies, Data Management and Biostatistics) as well as within Precision Medicine (including Clinical Biomarkers & Correlative Sciences and Bioanalytical Biomarker Platforms) to manage and deliver operational data support across a portfolio of Precision Medicine programs with a focus on execution, simplification and acceleration.

Data Operations Investigator

Fixed Term Contract (6 months)

Would you like to be part of the Precision Medicine Project Management & Operations (PMed PMO) team to provide operational management of data across the portfolio of Precision Medicine programs? Are you a detail-focused and process-orientated individual?

Key Responsibilities:

The Data Operations Investigator is responsible for working with partners across R&D (including R&D Tech, Research Technologies, Data Management and Biostatistics) as well as within Precision Medicine (including Clinical Biomarkers & Correlative Sciences and Bioanalytical Biomarker Platforms) to manage and deliver operational data support across a portfolio of Precision Medicine programs with a focus on execution, simplification and acceleration.

The Precision Medicine Data Operations investigator will support the delivery of impactful strategies through effective and compliant data acquisition, movement, use and reuse, and will foster strong business partnerships with our stakeholders to understand operational data challenges and help develop simplified solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implement operational data activities required to deliver Precision Medicine Clinical Biomarker Strategies
  • Provide operational support to deliver successful data-generating / data-sharing partnerships with external partners to enable disease and patient understanding.
  • Support post-hoc clinical analyses and reverse translation activities to power our early portfolio and build disease understanding.
  • Collaborate with the high-dimensional Data Strategy & Management team to support processes for exploratory and high-dimensional biomarker datasets from GSK clinical studies
  • Proactively identify challenges across the data operations space impacting delivery of Precision Medicine strategy

Responsibilities:

  • Work with an Associate Director to ensure portfolio/program level data operations strategy is deployed, where assigned
  • Support identification of data dependencies, future needs, and blockers to programs within the Precision Medicine portfolio
  • Coordinate with Clinical Biomarker Leads and cross-business partners (including R&D Tech, Research Technologies, Data Management and Biostatistics) to deliver Precision Medicine Clinical Biomarker Strategies
  • Manage and support the delivery of compliant data movement and storage from partnerships, collaborations, and consortia
  • Support hands-on data movement activities, such as setting-up of portals, managing access controls, drafting data transfer agreements/specifications, and tracking data access
  • Create and deliver solutions for simplifying data operations practices to increase productivity, maximise value, and remove redundant activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all GSK policies and procedures relating to Human Subject Research, Individual Human Data, and good data practices (FAIR, ALCOA).
  • Draft Communications and Training Materials for partners and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply:

  • Good understanding of scientific R&D processes
  • Familiarity/knowledge of GSK systems for storage, movement and archiving of clinical biomarker datasets
  • Familiarity/knowledge of data governance and privacy considerations regarding the use and re-use of human subject data.
  • Experience of clinical data management, quality and governance, or external collaborative engagements.
