Job description

JOB TITLE: Product Controller

LOCATION(S): Edinburgh Princes Exchange

SALARY: £42,120 - £46,800

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in Edinburgh Princes Exchange

About this opportunity

The role sits within the Product Control team, within Commercial Banking Finance, an agile and encouraging team with a desire to foster all of its colleagues development goals, via learning opportunities, knowledge sharing and cross training!

Day to day you'll be involved in;

  • Preparation of daily P&L production, reconciliations, signoffs, issue resolution.
  • Supporting the month end close processes associated with accurately reporting and independently validating the bank's balance sheet in a timely manner through the posting of journals and preparation of reconciliations.
  • Preparation of analysis and in-depth commentary on P&L and balance sheet movements.
  • Supporting a robust control framework for all processes within remit.
  • Undertaking ad hoc work and investigation arising from partner requests.
  • Supporting delivery of efficiencies and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Establishing and building relationships with partners.

What you'll need

  • Qualified or part qualified accountant
  • Knowledge of Financial Instruments.
  • Relationship building and Stakeholder management
  • Numerate and competent with MS Office applications especially Excel.

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Experience of working in Financial/Product Control or Audit
  • Experience of SQL and Macros
