Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual variance analysis and presentation packs to Program Directors to include Annual Operating Plan, Integrated Business Plans, and Quarterly Business Review submissions.
  • Provide timely financial guidance and analysis to Program Managers and Directors to detect program problems early and prevent continued risk to program health.
  • Review and analyze financial documentation such as cost performance reports, schedule status reports and contract funds status reports. Evaluates program or project status based on cost analysis and performance assessment techniques.
  • Examine contractor internal data both to validate consistency of reports to the government and reasonableness of budgets allocated to cost accounts. May conduct fact-finding sessions, if required.
  • Analyze assigned tasks to determine estimates of man-hours and material needed for completion. Monitors costs of tasks to prevent cost overruns. Compares cost to total budget and to milestone schedules. Monitors critical tasks regularly. Reviews and audits operating budgets periodically to analyze trends affecting budget needs.
  • Complete and review monthly Contract Status Report (CSR) and Project Performance Review (PPR) decks for Life Cycle Management (LCM) required programs.
  • Review and approve customer invoices in Billing tracking system, ensuring accuracy and compliance to contract.
  • Attend production/fabrication meetings as the Finance POC and takes actionable intelligence
  • Works closely with PM in developing Estimates to Complete (ETC's), providing financial advice to ensure performance in accordance with expectations
  • Assist in preparation and/or analysis of labor utilization and indirect reporting
  • Where applicable, perform general ledger account reconciliations to ensure program performance.
  • Maintain and oversee the Flight Solutions Multi-job Allocation (MJA) setup
  • Continually seek ways to improve existing processes to ensure service excellence
  • Support month-end closing activities
  • Enter forecast data into Hyperion.
  • Support other ad hoc analysis, projects, or data requests

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst Sr [190111] with prior government contracting experience to support the Flight Solutions business unit within Air & Space Force Solutions (ASFS) business area.

Looking for a well experienced candidate to apply finance and accounting principles in the analysis and evaluation of the prior, current and future financial conditions of ongoing and projected projects, programs or operations to determine status, performance, expenditures and revenues. Develops, interprets and implements financial concepts. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts. Analyzes financial performance, including comparison of actual results against planned results, and articulates the variance analysis to Program Managers/Directors.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Typical Education and Experience:

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills:

Deep understanding of Deltek Costpoint ERP, and Cognos Reporting Software.

Experience with Hyperion Planner, Essbase, and SmartView are preferred.

Excellent command of MS Office Suite to include: MS Word, Excel (including formula creation/validation, V-Lookup, and other calculation and data mining skills), Powerpoint, Outlook.

Experience in program finance/program control and government contracting for multiple contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M, FFP-LOE) with a strong focus on FFP and CPFF.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Clearance Level – active Secret or must be able to obtain Secret

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $78760 - $133870

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
