Responsibilities

  • Support the proper allocation, traceability, and verification of requirements at all levels through the lifecycle of the program
  • Prepare and give presentations to peers, management, and customers
  • Provide systems engineering support for technical teams in the development, verification, delivery, and operations of Missions, Segments, Elements, and Subsystems
  • Support expectations, preparations, and delivery for major gate reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, PSR)
  • Use Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for architecture to requirements traceability and interface development
  • Conduct technical assessments and make recommendations
  • Propose changes in design or formulation to improve system reliability, availability, and maintainability

Candidate requirements

  • Experience in development of Condition Based Maintenance Plus programs to meet key initiative for sustaining materiel readiness at optimum cost
  • Propose changes in design or formulation to improve system reliability, availability, and maintainability
  • Experience in developing Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis procedures and roadmaps to meet program performance requirements within life-cycle cost constraints
  • Experience recommending design or test methods and statistical analysis
  • AMSAA Planning Model and Reliability Growth Curves
  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering processes, including requirements development, requirement allocation, change management, verification and validation
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a

Systems Engineer for an exciting opportunity to support the Air Force's acquisition of the next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM), the Sentinel weapon system. This position is for an experienced systems engineer who can support the requirement baseline, development, integration and verification for segments, elements, and subsystems for the Sentinel weapon system.

The role of this position involves some creative and exciting work in areas of reliability, availability, and maintainability. The candidate will comply with industry standards and analyze performance reports. The candidate will analyze and develop guidance for reliability-center maintenance processes, condition-based maintenance plus implementation and architecture in order to achieve U.S. Air Force reliability, availability and maintainability objectives.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
  • 3+ years of relevant experience or 2+ years with Master's Degree
  • Experience using requirements database tools (DOORS, Jama, Cameo Requirements Modeler, e.g.)
  • Experience with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, SysML and DoDAF/UAF/UPDM
  • Experience with analytics, track data, and/or observational data
  • Proficient in mathematical, algorithmic and/or statistical analysis methods and tools
  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering processes, including requirements development, requirement allocation, change management, verification and validation
  • Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams including meeting schedule and performance goals
  • Experience working on-site with customers and end users in the DoD and/or Intelligence Community
  • A current, active SECRET security clearance is required

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Assessing reliability data of fielded systems for the purpose of assessing and documenting RAM and Logistics metrics and reliability (cumulative and instantaneous) growth trends
  • Performing reliability (MTBF, MTBCF, PoF, Ao, Am, Ai) analysis, maintainability and logistics (LRU, MTBM, MTTR, MDT) analysis, sparing analysis, and simulations which support military and industry standards
  • Experience recommending design or test methods and statistical analysis (AMSAA Planning Model and Reliability Growth Curves)
  • Experience in developing Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis procedures and roadmaps to meet program performance requirements within life-cycle cost constraints

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $75510 - $128340

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
