Responsibilities

  • Perform professional technical work that requires in-depth knowledge and diversified application of product lifecycle management or data management principles, theories, concepts, practices and techniques;
  • Ensure execution of configuration management processes across the lifecycle, and report on project status and progress measured against specific plans;
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and integrated product teams (IPTs) to modernize policies and processes, and provide PLM support with implementation into an emerging digital engineering environment;
  • Support the transformation of paper-based documents to digital or model-based products;
  • Research emerging trends, techniques, methods, and current best practices in the evolution of product lifecycle management or data management in a model-based environment, and be willing to be on the forefront and cutting edge of this rapidly growing field;
  • Routinely develop and update PLM system requirement specifications, including the mapping of new requirements to PLM capabilities;
  • Perform verification and validation activities to analyze configuration gaps between legacy and transition systems, including regression testing to confirm updated system capabilities;
  • Coordinate the migration of multiple design documents (3D CAD, DOORS, SysML, etc.), work processes and aging systems into a single Windchill PLM architecture;
  • Prepare, maintain and facilitate training for internal and external users;
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in PLM Technology to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency when applied to objectives, identifying new opportunities or advantages for the adoption of PLM services for current and future requirements.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced PLM Application Engineer to add their skills to our team supporting sustainment efforts for the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) weapon system for the TRIDENT II D5 OHIO CLASS submarine and the future COLUMBIA CLASS submarine replacement program. This is an exciting and dynamic job opportunity where you will not only work on an important project, but also help advance the United States military's global strategic deterrent mission.

The primary responsibility of this position is to technically lead work as part of a development, deployment, and sustainment team for PLM engineering solutions, which includes configuration management, process development, and requirements traceability. Additionally, this position will provide technical assistance with configuration, test, deployment and implementation of PLM technology to support system engineering processes and expansion into related areas of business to provide the SSP customer an integrated digital solution.

In this job, you will:

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • A bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Computer Science or other Technical Discipline, or equivalent experience;
  • 6+ years of work experience with PTC Windchill;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience with SSP Programs organization and working processes;
  • A master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Mathematics or Physics is preferred;
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) IT network systems is preferred;
  • 2+ years of work experience with PLM/CAD/DOORS integration and implementation;
  • Intermediate experience with SysML development and implementation is preferred
  • Beginner to intermediate knowledge of 3D Modeling (preferably using Creo Parametric);
  • Beginner to intermediate knowledge of DOORS;
  • Experience in document to model-based transfer/conversion is preferred;

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
