Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement action plans to improve engineering technical capabilities in order to optimize domain execution and overall business growth
  • Establish a collaborative environment to fully leverage best practices, tools, people and resources across the organization
  • Successfully drive continuous process improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies, meet cost takeout objectives, support execution needs, and promote agility
  • Work closely with the Product Realization Group Leads and Discipline Managers to staff near term project demand while defining and executing robust talent management plans
  • Identify and own productivity and capability measures
  • Establish, implement, and own the strategic direction for the discipline domains in alignment with business needs / plans / strategies

Contract

40 hours per week

  • Broad understanding of the functional discipline and product development lifecycle

The US Controls Systems Discipline Leader sits on the Engineering Staff with responsibility to oversee the Systems organization supporting the Controls & Avionics Solutions (CAS) and Power & Propulsion Solutions (PPS) business areas. Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Product Realization Group Leads and Discipline Managers to staff near term project demand while defining and executing robust talent management plans.
  • Develop a healthy pipeline of future technical leaders across the organization, inclusive of our college hire programs.
  • Establish, implement, and own the strategic direction for the discipline domains in alignment with business needs / plans / strategies.
  • Develop and implement action plans to improve engineering technical capabilities in order to optimize domain execution and overall business growth.
  • Successfully drive continuous process improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies, meet cost takeout objectives, support execution needs, and promote agility.
  • Cultivate a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Identify and own productivity and capability measures.
  • Establish a collaborative environment to fully leverage best practices, tools, people and resources across the organization.
  • Lead large-scale change initiatives.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Required education and Experience: Engineering Bachelor's Degree in EE, CS or CE plus a minimum of 15 years' experience

  • Proven ability to formulate a strategic vision, define and implement action plans to achieve goals
  • Extensive technical leadership experience in the development of complex electronic systems
  • Excellent project leadership skills
  • Strong collaboration and integration skills
  • Demonstrated capability in implementing significant process improvements /transformation initiatives
  • Proven strength in organizational and personal communication skills
  • Proven flexible management style to deal with diverse company cultures and individual differences
  • Broad understanding of the functional discipline and product development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions with clarity in an environment of ambiguity and uncertainty

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Proven mentoring and coaching skills
  • Advanced degree in management or engineering preferred.
  • Preferred candidates will have played a significant role in a major reorganization or transformational initiative
  • Preferred candidates will have experience in Safety Critical Aircraft Avionics development, design and Civil Certification with Regulatory Authorities

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
