Responsibilities

  • Perform system-level modeling and simulation to validate the performance of DSP algorithms under various channel conditions and interference scenarios
  • Collaborate with I&T teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Create, develop, and implement DSP algorithms, including interference detection, interference cancellation, and signal conditioning
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate DSP algorithms into hardware platforms and wireless systems
  • Optimize existing DSP algorithms to enhance system performance

Contract

40 hours per week

Through research programs funded by science and technology R&D organizations within the U.S. Department of Defense, the research and development team in FAST Labs collaborate across the enterprise. About the Role:

FASTLABs Engineering is seeking a Systems Engineer to join an existing program team and support I&T activities for a novel multi-function RF System. As a member of this team, you will collaborate with scientists, fellow engineers, and industry partners to realize innovative solutions to complex and challenging national security problems.

The ideal candidate will be instrumental in developing and implementing state-of-the-art DSP algorithms for our next-generation RF Systems. In this role you will:

  • Create, develop, and implement DSP algorithms, including interference detection, interference cancellation, and signal conditioning.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate DSP algorithms into hardware platforms and wireless systems.
  • Perform system-level modeling and simulation to validate the performance of DSP algorithms under various channel conditions and interference scenarios.
  • Optimize existing DSP algorithms to enhance system performance
  • Collaborate with I&T teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on DSP or wireless communications.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in DSP engineering, with a background in wireless communication systems.
  • Proficiency in DSP algorithm development, simulation, and implementation.
  • Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, or similar tools and languages (embedded program languages is a plus)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a creative and analytical approach to complex technical challenges.
  • Hold an Active or Eligible Top Secret clearance

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Understanding of RF systems and experience with software-defined radios (SDR).
  • Interest and desire to support I&T and field test events
  • Have active or eligible U.S. TS/SCI security clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $112420 - $191070

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
