Responsibilities

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
  • May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
  • Contribute to effective producibility of designs over the program lifecycle using core systems engineering skills.
  • Bring ingenuity and creativity to provide technical solutions and solve problems.
  • Support the development of ground segment system engineering design.
  • Understand and implementation solutions that meet requirements and use cases.
  • Support program gates as defined by customer, such as the System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR).
  • Work in a team-oriented environment to use modern and emerging technologies to optimize the next generation of web-based user interfaces (UI), data processing and event driven applications in a cloud computing environment for Windows and Linux.
  • Work directly with developers, users, and stakeholders to understand requirements and implement and integrate software applications to meet the mission goals.
  • Set vision and direction, develop strategy and efficient processes to enable agile development team to meet deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain short- and long-term plans for agile software delivery in accordance with customer needs.

Contract

40 hours per week

Candidate requirements

  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience

We are looking to expand our team with a talented and energetic ground system engineer in support of operation of space vehicles and ground systems for commercial, DoD, and NASA customers. This position consists of working on a tightly integrated team in a fast-paced Agile environment to deliver continuous innovation to our customers.

The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers' missions. What You'll Do:

  • Contribute to effective producibility of designs over the program lifecycle using core systems engineering skills.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 4 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Experience with Agile software development practices including requirements, design, coding, debugging, unit testing, configuration management and integration.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other Agile Scrum certifications preferred.
  • Experience developing software architectures that meet requirements.
  • Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD tools and concepts.
  • Experience with code versioning systems such as Git.
  • Ability to multitask and support multiple projects.
  • Ability to problem solve, mentor agile development teams and improve processes.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Mission management, command & control, mission data processing, ground terminal and infrastructure domains.
  • Support of various test milestone such as Test Readiness Review (TRR), Factory or Site Acceptance Test (FAT/SAT); Security milestones like Interim Authority to Test (IATT), Authority to Operate (ATO); Ground sell off milestones like Ground Completion Review (GCR).
  • Exposure to DevSecOps.
  • Exposure to Confluence and Gilab.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
