Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review documentation for Customs entries, compliance/transmission and other governmental agencies
  • Coordinate ATF permits/exemptions for imports of ITAR controlled items
  • Assure compliance with USMCA, ILTA, AUST and other trade agreements as applicable
  • Analyze and confirm valuation of imports and coordinate adjustments as required
  • Assure compliance with Country-of-Origin determinations and markings
  • Coordinate classification of products according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule with Supply Chain function
  • Maintain and update records of all imports into the automated tracking system

Contract

40 hours per week

Job Description

At BAE Systems, we provide some of the world's most advanced, technology led defense, aerospace and security solutions. The position supports the BAE Systems Land & Armaments L.P. The primary responsibility of this position is to facilitate effective customs entry process while maintaining compliance according to 19 CFR of the U.S. Customs regulations. This position will organize and implement day-to-day import activities to achieve targeted results in a fast-paced environment. We are customer-oriented, innovative, driven to excel and sustainably focused and we work with each other as One Team. This position is a hybrid position with some in-office presence, in any of the following locations: Falls Church, VA: Anniston, AL; Minneapolis, MN; Louisville, KY.

  • Prepare and review documentation for Customs entries, compliance/transmission and other governmental agencies
  • Obtain and review 7501 entry summary from customs brokers and process corrections as required
  • Coordinate classification of products according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule with Supply Chain function
  • Analyze and confirm valuation of imports and coordinate adjustments as required
  • Assure compliance with Country-of-Origin determinations and markings
  • Assure compliance with USMCA, ILTA, AUST and other trade agreements as applicable
  • Knowledge, understanding of Returns & Repairs
  • Responsible for assuring compliance with Duty Free Entitlement (DFE) requirements and obtaining or coordinating receipt of necessary documentation to support DFE including but not limited to DFE Certificates
  • Maintain and update records of all imports into the automated tracking system
  • Assist with internal compliance audits for Imports, record retention maintenance, and assistance evaluating potential process gaps and risks, ACE reports
  • Manage temporary licenses, knowledge of DSP 61, 73's
  • Coordinate ATF permits/exemptions for imports of ITAR controlled items
  • Troubleshooting, resolve any issues which could result in the shipments being delayed
  • Customer service is a vital part of the Import Analyst's role so as to maintain professional demeanor with internal and external customers

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 4 + years of experience with import trade compliance
  • Ability to multitask and manage many projects simultaneously.
  • Strong decision making skills and ability to back up difficult decisions
  • Excellent team player that works well in a collaborative setting
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to develop and provide training to a variety of audiences

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Defense experience a plus
  • Experience working in OCR EMS
  • Customs Broker's License a plus

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $78760 - $133870

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
